 The Evergreen Regional Landfill site is located 28 km southwest of St. Paul (west of St. Paul on Highway 29 and turn south on Range Road 104) and is used for waste disposal.

Evergreen Regional Waste Management Services Commission is made up of seven Municipalities. County of St. Paul #19, Town of St. Paul, County of Smoky Lake, Town of Smoky Lake, Town of Elk Point, Village of Vilna and the Village of Waskatenau. Evergreen Regional landfill opened to the public in January, of 2005. Evergreen Regional landfill is a Class 11 landfill.

Evergreen Regional Waste Management Services Commission has five full time employees. Commission Manager, Site Operator, Equipment Operator, Transfer station Operator, and a Scales Operator/Bookkeeper. Three employees on site are certified landfill Operators.


Rates at Regional Landfill:
  • MSW $85.00/tonne for Commission Members (County of St. Paul, Town of St. Paul, Elk Point & Smoky Lake)
  • MSW $125.00/tonne for Non-Members
  • Commercial Demolition Material (Shingles, Cement, Non-Burnable) $55/tonne
  • Fridges/Freezers/Water Coolers/ Air Conditioners = $20.00 fee
  • Asbestos $200.00/tonne
  • Contaminated Soil $35.00/tonne
  • Penalties for mixed load $200.00/ tonne

Types of waste accepted:
  • Appliances (stoves, washers, dryers, dishwashers, microwaves, hot water tanks, barbeques)
  • Household and office furniture (tables and chairs, couches, mattresses, desks, TV's, stereos, computers)
  • Unbagged leaves, grass, garden waste for composting
  • Salvageable Scrap Metal
  • Burnable Materials
  • Tires
  • Trees, Shrubs
  • Wet Batteries (cars)
  • Dry Batteriies (dry cell)
  • Paint
  • Oil, oil containers, filters
  • Pesticide containers
Non acceptable materials:
  • Hazardous wastes
  • Medical waste
  • Human waste/ sewage
